MGMA comes to the defense of physicians in their comments responding to CMS’s proposed rules for the implementation of MACRA.

In MGMA’s letter to Andrew Slavitt, CMS’s Acting Administrator, multiple recommendations were made to simplify MIPS and APM to include reducing reporting requirements and awarding credits across performance categories to increase efficiency and decrease duplication. Additionally, MGMA has requested an extension on an implementation timeline that will prove difficult, if not impossible, to meet.
